now
I'm not going to pretend I have life figured out right now. Some days I wonder what I'm doing, and why I'm here in this city. Then I wonder if my thoughts are merely connected to circumstantial factors to which I should give less weight. Regardless, I'm coming to terms with the fact that I'll never have life figured out, and I'll never be content if I don't embrace the present. This isn't the easiest of realizations for me - the futurist who always carves out plans of things to come. Each day though, I'm working to remind myself that this where I am in this moment. All this doesn't erase my missing other people and places, nor does it wipe out my longings for uncharted territory. And, it's does nothing to dictate the duration of my stay in my current circumstances. It's not meant to, but it does allow me to feel more alive here and now.

A few highlights of embracing the present this weekend include:
farmers' market + purple potatoes
bookmans browsing
lemon bars from scratch
downtown pizzeria + questions
knife skills + deboning a chicken
