food

In case it wasn't already apparent, I love my food...

(1) multigrain porridge with peanut butter and fruit; (2) lemon poppyseed loaf; (3) arugula salad with pears, hazelnut, manchego and yes, amazing balsamic

love

"Love is not an affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person's ultimate good as far as it can be obtained."
- C.S. Lewis

open seas

"A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are for."
- William G. Shedd

cake

'Tis the season of birthdays here, which also means the season of cakes. The latest = coconut chocolate chip cake.

wash away

I wish the words would drip sweetly,
Assurance breaking through fear.

The ripples of that stone that dropped
Still seem to interfere.

Wash away, clean the slate,
Find this all to be a disguise.

And, in that place, restore the bliss -
That beauty of feeling alive.
